I love you, yes you!
We all need to know that we are loved, treasured,we are enough.
We are not the mistakes we’ve made. We are not the labels that have been put on us. And we aren’t the lies the Enemy has tried to sell us.
Who does God say we are?
You a child of God. (John 1:12)
You are the apple of God’s eye (Zechariah 2:8)
You are sought after. (Isaiah 62:12)
You are a new creation in Christ (2 Cor 5:17)
You are the righteousness of Christ (2 Cor 5:21)
We all at times struggle with our identities. Whether it's from a painful childhood, the world, or the voice of the enemy.
All of our identity issues are just fundamental misunderstanding of who God really is.
Let me explain:
Guilt issues are misunderstanding of God’s grace.
Control issues are a misunderstanding of God’s sovereignty.
Anger issues are a misunderstanding of God’s mercy.
Pride issues are a misunderstanding of God’s greatness.
Trust issues are a misunderstanding of God’s goodness.
If you struggle with any of these issues it is time to let God be the loudest voice in your life!
Guess what? God doesn’t love you for who you are. God loves us because of who He is.
When we succeed, God says I love you.
When we fail, God says I love you.
When we have faith God says I love you.
When we doubt He says I love you.
Love is His answer to everything.
Why? Because God is LOVE.
There is nothing you can do to make Him love you anymore or any less than He already does.
God loves you perfectly, He loves you eternally.
God really wants us to hear what He is saying, and we really need to listen!
But much more than that he wants us to hear his heart.
So he whispers softer and softer so that we have to come closer and closer.
And then when we finally get close enough, he envelopes us in his arms and tells us that he loves us. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.(Psalm 9:10)
Unfortunately we have been deafened by the voices of conformity, the voices of criticism, and the voices of condemnation. What are the side effects of listening to those voices?
Loneliness, shame and anxiety.
God is not in the business of replacing damaged people.
God is in the business of fixing damaged people.
He does not want to get rid of us.
He wants to change us, He wants to heal us, He wants to transform us. He wants to live out the message of the cross through us.
In Japan there is an ancient art called Kintsugi which means holden repair. When a piece of pottery breaks, they mend it with a special lacquer dusted with gold or silver dust.
This is a perfect representation of our brokenness.
God is The Potter, He created us, and it is in the trials of this world we get bumped and broken.
The Potter then takes our pieces and mends us, and in the process we become more beautiful than our original selves.
Know this my friends, God loves you more than you could ever fathom, more than anyone could ever measure.
